What's this? Two beauty queens in a row? Sure, why not?
Throw out your misconceptions about the world of beauty pageants because our guest this week brings more to the table than just physical beauty. Our guest this week is Miss Samoa USA 2009 Hope Pomele, a nursing student at Kapiolani Community College, Hawaii. She has a 3.9 GPA, is on the Dean's list, with plans to further her studies at the University of Hawaii in microbiology. Hope has a special interest in Samoan traditional medicine. She is also concerned about the dependency of Samoa and Pacific Island nations on western pharmaceutical medicine.
We'll discuss these critical issues and also chat with the founders of Urban Pacifik Musik - a 24/7 Polynesian online radio station - getting ready to launch on August 1st! YES!!
